We met Timur Davis when he worked at a Bergen County library. When Mr. Davis went on to became the director of his own library, he gave us a call. Together we made the Wyandanch Public Library website. The board specifically wanted it green, so green it is!
In front of the real Wayandanch Library building is a large LED screen used for announcements and community news. So for the library’s homepage, we turned the that screen into a Twitter update box. We switched over
to another service since, but the idea is the same. Now the librarians use their off-site account to post everything from kid’s shows to snow closings from anywhere – without the dynamic scripting needed for a content management system.
We also made extensive use of Mega Drop-Down menus for this website (see right). These informative panels make commonly needed information, such as hours and holidays, quick to find.
